Driver Requirements – Open Way Inc.
To qualify for a driving position with Open Way Inc., applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
📋 License & Experience

Hold a valid Class A CDL license

Be at least 25 years of age
-
(Minimum age required for most insurance carriers and for safe long-haul operation)

Have a minimum of 2 years of verifiable over-the-road (OTR) driving experience
-
Have at least 1 year of flatbed experience
-
(Step deck or oversize load experience is a plus)
-
🛣️ Driving & Safety Record
-
Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
-
No major violations in the past 3 years (e.g., DUI, reckless driving)
-
No license suspensions or revocations related to safety
-
-
Maintain a satisfactory Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) report
-
No DOT-controlled substance violations
-
No positive drug/alcohol test or refusal within DOT regulations
-
Not currently enrolled in a SAP return-to-duty program
-
📁 Work History

Stable work history
-
No more than 2 job changes in the last 6 months
-
No truck/trailer abandonment history

Must be able to pass:

Employment verification checks
-
Criminal background check (only as related to DOT/CDL eligibility)

DOT physical and medical certification requirements

🚛 Job Requirements

Willing and able to stay OTR for a minimum of 3 weeks at a time

Must be eligible to work in the United States
-
Can reside in any of the 48 continental U.S. states

Must be able to safely secure and tarp flatbed freight
-
Tarping and chaining may be required depending on load

🏠 Home Time Policy
-
3 weeks OTR = 3 days home
-
4 weeks OTR = 4 days home
(Drivers may request extended OTR time for additional home time flexibility)
